Art Supplies I Use and Recommend

Writer: Kevin BeaneKevin Beane

It has always been important to me to use the best quality tools and materials in the creation of my work, paintings and drawings. There can be a huge difference in quality between different brands of paint, for instance.

  • Holbein artist’s watercolor tubes (15ml /0.5 fl. oz)

  • Gamblin artist’s oil colors (various sizes, mostly 37ml / 1.25 oz))

  • Utrecht oil and acrylic paint

  • Liquitex acrylics and media

  • Blick Studio colored pencils (and I encourange anyone working in colored pencil to get a large set such as a box of 72)

  • Rembrandt Polycolor Lyra pencil sets

  • Derwent drawing pencil sets

  • Koh-I-Noor Gioconda drawing/sketching/toning art sets and other Koh-I-Nor drawing products (top quality)

  • Staedtler drawing products (top quality)

  • Arches cold pressed watercolor paper pads

  • Strathmore drawing papers (Bristol for colored pencils and others for general use)
