Recipe links (not my recipes but I’ve made them and found them to be quite good)
French Onion Soup
Instant Pot 40 Cloves of Garlic Chicken
I stick pretty much to this but make fettuccine Alfredo at the same time and combine them. I used save most of the garlic for something else (after cooking, remove from instant pot and put in a small container for the fridge) but I found that the taste is quite mellow after all that cooking.
Lard biscuits
Use extra yeast. Make sure to proof the yeast and let the dough rise for at least an hour covered.
Scotch Pies
Another recipe which calls for lard instead of butter. Ground beef works fine. The crusts are to die for and by all means make this simple gravy to put on top. Pairs well with a vegetable like corn, peas, or carrots.
Crab Quiche
I use whatever cheese I have but their recommendation is good. If you have snow crab legs, wow. I have used canned crabmeat quite a few times.
Croissants
Cronuts
This can be done in two days. It is a lot of work but most of the time you are letting the dough rest in the fridge. Cutting out the donut shapes: I use a glass for the outer part and cut the hole out with a sharp knife. Filling and frosting is up to you. I have rolled them in sugar when done but that’s just too much sugar. The chocolate-champagne filling is great but use whatever you have. I have also made cronuts right up to the part where you let them cool and instead of filling I put a cooked meatball in the hole and top with marinara sauce to make a “croissizza”. Great stuff!
Ramen
Pizza dough
With a stand mixer if you have one:
All you need is a fork:
Baked Chicken Parmesan
This makes an amazing pizza topping. You can make extra and use the refrigerated portion to bake right into a pizza with mozzarella (less than usual amount).
Chimichangas
Copycat Cheddar Bay Biscuits
I like to cook some lobster tails or whole lobster and stuff each biscuit with lobster meat. SO MUCH BETTER!
Lieutenant Dan’s Chicken
I start with Joshua Weissman’s basic recipe and improvise. It’s never the same but I make it quite spicy and if I don’t have some of the ingredients (must visit an Asian market for shaoxing wine) I substitute. Try to stick to the recipe, though. Joshua is a great cook. Any hot peppers will do but red in color is best for presentation. Breast meat can be used instead of thighs.
Note: DO NOT USE CHICKEN LEGS BECAUSE LIEUTENANT DAN AINT GOT NO LEGS.
Green Bean Casserole
Southern Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Chocolate espresso muffins
Hawaiian Sweet Bread
Maple buttermilk bread
